Happy Holidays! This unit contains five Christmas-themed math “Write the Room” activities. Each activity comes with eight question cards (provided in both color and black & white), a student recording sheet and an answer key. In this unit, you will find:
Pages 1-6: “Elf Wages” - basic multiplication within 100. Multiply to find the wages of each elf per day.
Pages 7-12: “Feed the Reindeer” - basic multiplication within 100. Multiply to find how many carrots each reindeer eats per day.
Pages 13-18: “How Many Toys?” - place value to thousands. Use the information to place the digits in the right place to find the number of toys made by the elves.
Pages 19-24: “Letters to Santa” - rounding to the nearest 10 or 100. Round the number of letters sent to Santa Claus by children in various countries.
Pages 25-30: “Santa Time” - time to the nearest five minutes. Use the information to find the time that Santa visits various countries.
For each activity, print, cut & laminate the question cards. Place the cards around your classroom, provide your students with the recording sheet and allow them to find each card, record any necessary information and answer the question
**These activities would work best with 3rd or 4th grade students.**
