Description

This journal is great for showing student writing progress throughout the school year.

There are 4 cover choice pages depending on the grade level you teach (preschool, kindergarten, first grade, or second grade).

Then there are 2 writing page choices for each month. One has plain lines and one choice has dotted lines. The top of each page has a space for student name and date and a frame for a drawing. Then the lines for writing are at the bottom of each page. There are 2 pages at the end of the packet which include lines on the entire page (one with plain lines and one with dotted lines) for advanced writers or writers later in the year who made need more writing space. Copy those pages as needed by your students.

You can use these monthly pages each day throughout the month, for writing assessment purposes, or once at the beginning of each month. If used once at the beginning of each month, it is great to save the monthly samples and bind together at the end of the school year. It makes a great keepsake for parents. You could also go ahead and bind them at the beginning of the year and use them daily or monthly as desired.

These pages are also great for the writing center.

It is so much fun seeing and showing the students and parents the progress the students made in their writing skills during the year.

I hope your students become successful writers and have fun while doing so!
