No more boring sight word practice! This funny sight word practice activity
gets kids to read and comprehend sight words in context—and they’ll love it!
How does the activity work?
1. Cut out the pictures at the bottom of the worksheet.
2. Use the pictures to fill in the boxes.
If the box contains a symbol in the upper left corner- such as a star, circle, or triangle- then the picture must also have the matching symbol. (This was necessary on some of the worksheets in order to keep the sentences grammatically correct.)
3. Read your silly sentences. Laugh. Make new sentences.
4. Glue down your favorites.
As students try different combinations to make the silliest sentences possible, they are reading the sight words repeatedly, generating LOTS OF PRACTICE!
Comprehension occurs naturally as they read the words IN CONTEXT and interpret the humor.
