Columbus Day Fractions is a unique and fun way to practice fractions. This activity is a NO PREP
so you can print it off on Columbus Day as a last minute activity and it will be ready to go! Students are given these words: Columbus, boat, Isabella, Santa Maria, transatlantic, and Nia. The student needs to determine the frequency of each letter in the word and write it in fraction form.
For example: If the word was "apple":
A is in the word 1/5 of the time
P is in the word 2/5 of the time
L is in the word 1/5 of the time
E is in the word 1/5 of the time
