Less copies and easy to correct - save time with our test packet format!

This is a very straightforward middle school-level exam that covers:

  • Basic structure of DNA
  • Homologous chromosomes
  • Number of chromosomes in humans (23/46, this test does NOT use the terms haploid/diploid)
  • Male/female sex chromosome arrangement

The test includes 23 multiple choice questions and a 2-part open response question that requires a simple analysis of a karyotype for gender and if there are any abnormalities.

This test is 3 pages long with an additional 1-sided answer sheet. You only have to make one class set of test question packets and then reuse them class to class, as it is only necessary for the students to write on their answer sheet.

Develop and use a model to describe why structural changes to genes (mutations) located on chromosomes may affect proteins and may result in harmful, beneficial, or neutral effects to the structure and function of the organism. Emphasis is on conceptual understanding that changes in genetic material may result in making different proteins. Assessment does not include specific changes at the molecular level, mechanisms for protein synthesis, or specific types of mutations.
