As students watch the movie, they will identify literary elements and put them in a chart. Examples are given for every element on the chart. (symbol, theme, irony, foreshadowing etc.) After the film, students discuss their charts as well as allegory, common literary events, themes, allusions, and character types found in the movie and fill out a chart with that information. Students then use both charts to write an informational essay. A completed chart (the 2nd one) that I used in my inclusion class (rather than having them fill the chart in as we go) has been provided.
