Chrysanthemum is such a delightful story, and this Reader's Theater will allow the students to enjoy it even further. It would be perfect for a beginning of the year activity or at any time that the students need a reminder to treat others with kindness.
There are roles for eleven students. Reader labels are included. Simply copy them onto cardstock. Hole-punch at the top and lace with yarn to make a necklace, or attach to a long strip of construction paper to make a headband!
I incorporated the use of the word ALL so that students need to read in unison at times--this enables readers with smaller parts to feel that they are an integral part of the script as well as giving them more reading practice!
I hope you enjoy Chrysanthemum!
If you like this Reader's Theater, I have more by Kevin Henkes. They are:
Sheila Rae, The Brave
A Weekend With Wendell
I also have a comprehension scoot or pass for Wemberly Worried.
Thank you so much, and please feel free to make any changes that you would like to this script so that it best fits the needs of your class.
