Animated Step-by-Steps® are animated PowerPoints designed to address literacy, language, AAC and a host of academic goals. Each page includes a series of animations. Read the text up to the star … click … and see an animation of what you just read.
There are four versions of Chuga Chuga (Regular, PCS, SymbolStix, VI). This resource is designed to support the needs of students with Visual Impairment. In keeping with guidelines for working with children with VI, this Animated Step-by-Step has:
-animations that provide built-in movement
-movement that helps to focus the student on the target object
-uses simplified high contrast graphics
-uses sound effects to support the concepts being shared
-uses high contrast text (white or yellow text on a black background)
The resource also includes a built in 'safe zone' (attached to the page numbers) that can be helpful when providing switch training. http://bit.ly/2xFBhtF
A Song button is available on each page. I typically read the page then re-read the page while singing.
This resource works on number concepts and introduces various modes of transportation: bike, car, bus, train, boat, plane). Chuga Chuga can be personalized with photo faces of your students. The resource includes links to blog posts that explain the process.
