Product Description
The California Indian period is an important era in the history of California. Native Americans living in the state built rich, diverse cultures and social traditions. Students reading this book will learn about the everyday life experiences of Chumash children, a tribe of southern California. They will learn how Indians hunted, fished and traded with Indians from other regions. There are two distinct versions for your students to enjoy. Digital Screen Reader allows students to read the story via PDF on a computer screen. This version has a color cover and large print. The alternative version, the Personalized Student Reader, is an exciting new concept designed to get quality reading material directly into the hands of every student. Teachers using this version of can print a full class set of readers and have the students make them into booklets (including binding). The student illustrates the cover with their own drawing. Then students read the story and do activities. When completed, the students take the book home! The Teacher Guide provides complete instructions on how to print and compile the Personalized Student Reader. It also contains lesson plans with activities for each chapter, as well as vocabulary worksheets for both the Digital Screen Reader and the Personalized Student Reader.
