Upper elementary school students can often find spelling difficult too. So, let’s take a walk down memory lane with chunking. Get your students to identify words with the words.
This a fun, chunking activity that you can use with your upper elementary school student. This will help them learn how to spell their words.
I asked my upper elementary students to locate words inside of the spelling words; however, you can use these in any way that you need. You can have the students chunk these words into syllables, etc.
These set contains 50 cards. It also contains 5 cut and sort panels. They can be used as a Center Activities or as a fast and simple way to increase your students’ spelling skills.
I recommend printing these cards off on cardstock and laminating them. Then, hand them out to your students. You can use a timer and set a limit on the amount of time they have to answer or you can simply allow your students to answer at their own pace. Either way, your students will have fun while learning high-frequency spelling words.
