In this activity, the student will complete an exercise on chunking through use of a graphic organizer. The student will be given a graphic organizer "Chunks of the House". The house is broken down into different rooms, in which the child writes related words and creates logographic representations. In the attic the child must write the chunk then in the rooms below, the related words and their visual representations. The house has six rooms below the attic, in which 6 different related words will go. In the basement of the house, the student will use one or two of the six new related words in a sentence.
