Tired of reading Spanish sentences from students that are only a subject and a verb? You teach them to say, "I go to the park with my friends on Saturday because I like to play soccer." and they produce, "I like soccer."
Challenge your students to brainstorm different answers to the questions: Who, what, when, where, and why?
Attached is a skeletal outline of the worksheet. I have my students brainstorm in groups vocabulary that might fit in each category. I will also model sentences in English that fit each category and have them translate. Finally, I will have them produce their own sentences.
