This resource provides inviting Cinco de Mayo themed math centers for learners to practice addition facts to 10. There are 5 addition clip card math center activities in this packet. Each activity has 12 clothespin clip cards and a recording sheet. There is an addition fact and a choice of three sums printed on each clothespin clip card. The cards and recording sheet have matching graphics. These activities are great for morning tubs, early finishers, informal assessment, and take home practice.
Print, laminate, and cut out the clothespin clip cards. Print the recording sheet that goes with the clothespin clip cards. You will need 12 clothespins for each activity. To keep with the Cinco de Mayo theme, I put the cards and clothespins in a tortilla warmer from a dollar store.
Learners clip a clothespin on the correct sum or they can use dry erase markers to circle the correct sum. You may opt to make these cards self-checking by writing the answer on the back or marking a dot on the back at the correct spot.
After selecting the correct sum, learners write the equation and sum on the recording sheet.
These math centers help learners develop addition fluency and supports the Math Common Core Standards for Operations and Algebraic Thinking.
Thank you for looking at this resource. I hope you and your learners enjoy these activities.
