Teach your students about the real meaning behind "CINCO DE MAYO" with this fun craft. First, show them my favorite YouTube videos on the subject and then have them complete a simple color & cut activity. (For students that finish early, have them complete a "Cinco de Mayo" word search at the end.)
Teacher Tip! For a more simple activity, use the worksheets as coloring pages and for a more elaborate activity, use them all to create a “Cinco de Mayo” decoupage! (Color, cut, and paste each item onto a large piece of construction paper or a canvas. Then, paint over the top using decoupage glue.)
Included with this resource are the following:
1. Detailed instructions with YouTube links, (4 of my favorite videos).
2. One "burro" piñata template
3. One "sombrero" with mustache template
4. One "maracas" template
5. One "Cinco de Mayo" word search
(A fun little "write-up" that tells students about the history and significance of each item is included.)
For this activity, you will need the following materials:
- Crayons, colored pencils or markers
- Glue Gun
- Popsicle Sticks
Simple, fun, and minimal prep!
