PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Cinco de Mayo and/or Hispanic Heritage Month Collaborative Group Poster: Maracas! This project involves the entire class. In the end, you will have a very large (approx. 28” x 28”) Cinco de Mayo/Hispanic Heritage Month poster to display to celebrate the fiesta! Also, along the way, students will work together as a group to create something beautiful.

*****There is now a Spanish version of this poster also included*****

This resource is part of my May Art Activity Bundle for Classroom Teachers which provides a 50% savings on my May resources.

The exact size of the poster depends on margin and printing settings.

There are 16 pieces total. Each piece fits on a regular piece of copy paper.

I have (in very small font) written a letter to correspond to each matching color directly on the art.

I have included a colored example of the finished poster in case you want to use it to show your students on your Smart Board or other projector how this will look in the end....or don't tell them what they are making and let them be surprised when they see it all put together!

There are 9 different colors used on the poster, so you’ll have to supply them (probably in multiples) to the students. They are pretty standard colors; yellow, light blue, orange, light green, pink, green, purple, red and blue. Areas left blank need to be left white. If each student doesn’t have the exact same shade of the colors, it is alright, it just adds “character” to the final product!

After each square is colored by your students have them cut out the squares and write the corresponding letter and number on the back of the large square that they just colored.

I provide instructions on every step of this project.

I have included 2 bonus coloring sheets as well so student can have a small copy for themselves since they will not be able to keep the large poster. They can color the individual coloring sheet(s) however they want! I’ve had teachers tell me that they had the group make the big poster and then displayed both the group poster and individual coloring sheets for beautiful bulletin board displays!
