Welcome to Pepper’s latest adventure for Cinco de Mayo and the Battle of Puebla. In this product students learn about the history of Cinco de Mayo and the celebrations and traditions associated with this Pueblan and American Mexican holiday in English, and pick up some Spanish vocabulary (Spanish Level 1). This package provides details and vocabulary that can be appreciated by experienced teachers, and yet it is easy enough to follow for teachers with little prior knowledge of either Spanish or this historical event to use.
There is a detailed 'newspaper' for older students, simpler booklets for younger students, and sheets for the youngest students to use. Therefore this package can be used for those in Pre-K to Grade 9 or higher (or ages 3 to 14 or higher). The PowerPoint is an interactive presentation that allows students to provide answers before they are shown on the next slide. Pepper has also provided a Word Quiz, History Quiz and Reflections Exercise, and a Teachers’ Sheet of Answers. The documents are in PDF, PowerPoint and Word so you can edit them. Please click on the preview for more details.
