We always eat and have a party to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in my Spanish classes. I've created a research page for kids to complete while they eat and socialize with their friends.
They will need internet access and/or a bar-code scanning device (on a smart phone or iPad, for instance).
Included with the download are three web links to pages that compare and contrast the two holidays. Also included is a Venn Diagram for them to fill-in, and a list of 5 authentic foods related to traditional Mexican holidays. I have them research the 5 foods and draw a picture of the item and describe what it's like and/or how it is eaten.
This makes me feel a little less guilty about having a "party" in class! At least they will get a little education in the process...!
