This mini-unit includes resources to compare and contrast different versions of the Cinderella story. In this unit, students will be exposed to a variety of different Cinderella stories from around the world. A suggested book list is included. Students will take notes, compare and contrast using a Venn-diagram, and collect and represent data using two different types of graphs.
This mini-unit addresses the following Common Core standards:
Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.
Compare and contrast two or more versions of the same story (e.g., Cinderella stories) by different authors or from different cultures.
Draw a picture graph and a bar graph (with single-unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple put-together, take-apart, and compare problems1using information presented in a bar graph.
