"Cinders: A Chicken Cinderella" by Jan Brett is a delightful retelling of Cinderella that uses Russian architecture and costuming paired with an assortment of chicken breeds to tell the story. The story is perfect for a literature component in a unit on friendship, bullying, fairy tales, Jan Brett's works, or farm life.
This activity can be used in whole group instruction (if you project it), small group instruction, as a literacy center, as a walk around, or as a scoot activity.
This freebie includes a comprehension activity with 20 multiple choice question cards, student answer recording sheet, and an answer key. Each question card features a photograph of a different breed of chicken.
