Product Description
This is a complete lesson plan designed to extend over a period of three to four 71 minute class periods after students have completed reading The Pearl by John Steinbeck. The lesson uses an episode from The Twilight Zone, entitled "Button, Button," and directs students to closely watch and analyze with three different purposes. Once the viewing has been completed, students are asked to draw a thematic comparison between The Pearl and Button, Button and ultimately decide which medium was more effective in conveying the chosen theme. The resource includes a detailed lesson plan, components of UDL, a graphic organizer, and instructional notes on the episode, but not the novel, for the teacher.
