The following worksheet and activity ideal for an English, film studies, or photography class assigns students to pick a shot of their own choosing and to analyze its camera proxemics, angle, lighting, color values, and lens/filter/stock. The worksheet empowers their critical thinking skills by being able to have them assess what specifics stylistic choices were made by the cinematographer and/or director and to analyze how these choices create effect and meaning in the context of the film, TV show, etc. It can be extended into a presentation, students can simply share their shots with one another, or they can submit the shot and analysis to the teacher for a grade.
