In this engaging listening and speaking lesson, students will review uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and the numbers (0-100) by giving and following basic directions. Short on time? Need a quick activity? Parts of this lesson plan could be used as individual activities for a quick warm-up or closing activity.
In partners, students work together to complete multiple information gaps. Then, they create their own handout to practice the letters and numbers. The lesson culminates with an exit ticket.
The download includes the step-by-step procedure, materials for students, and answer keys (if applicable). It is aligned to the College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education.
While you can use and recycle this resource, the procedure is written under the assumption that students already know the alphabet, capital letters, lowercase letters, and the numbers (0-100).
This is a tried and true resource for literacy and beginner adult ESL learners; however, it could be adapted to other ESL teaching contexts.
