Here you have 23 pages filled with pictures that the students can use to identify beginning, middle, and ending sounds. The students can either circle or color the letter that corresponds with each picture. A colleague of mine actually had her students use their pencils and punch the letters out.
If you choose to use these in a center, laminate them first so that the students can use dry-erase markers to color or circle the letters, and you can use the cards again. The last 6 pages of this packet contain templates of the front and back covers in case you want to create books instead. This is an activity I use daily with my students, especially those who still have not mastered their letter sounds. I have successfully used this packet in both reading centers and in book form with Kindergarten, First Grade, and during the first semester of Second Grade as a review. I have also used this activity with Pre-Emergent, Emergent, and Basic level ELL students of all age groups. These are a great way to incorporate vocabulary and phonics practice with ELL students.
