Give your students engaging practice with the circuit format! Your students will want to solve every one of these (16) absolute value equations because to move to the next question, a student must search for the answer to the question just answered. In this way students are careful with their work and ask lots of good questions -- but it also allows them to be independent too.
This circuit starts with evaluating an absolute value expression and moves on to solving equations and then even some applications (a few word problems and graphing). The problems are progressive in nature, building as they move through the circuit. Great for independent practice, guided notes, cooperative learning, differentiated intruction... you name it!
The answers are part of the circuit so no answer key is included. The only thing the teacher must do is work the circuit ahead of the stuents and then the circuit takes care of the rest! Your students will beg for more circuits.
Can be easily made into task cards or a scavenger hunt.
