Give your students engaging practice with the circuit format! This circuit contains 20 questions which build in difficultly as they address finding vertical, horizontal and even slant asymptotes (two questions towards the end). Students will also be asked to find x-intercepts, y-intercepts, and y-coordinates of removable discontinuity (holes). The majority of the functions are rational, but the the final four are exponential, logarithmic, trig and logistic.
To advance in the circuit, students hunt for their answer and that becomes the next problem. My students talk talk talk and effortlessly lean over to help each other. You will love the sound of your classroom as your students work through a circuit! Mine do not get up when the bell rings!
There is no answer key included because the answers are embedded in the circuit. The only prep the teacher needs to to is work the circuit ahead of the students to determine how / where it fits in their lesson. The circuit could be used for anything from guided notes to a review before the test. For example, I don't currently teach precalculus but I will use this circuit with my calculus students before we work on limits.
