I wrote this circuit for my high school students who come to me at the upper levels with weak fraction skills. The intention is to work this circuit without a calculator. This circuit has 28 problems and starts easy (2/7 + 4/7), but as students advance in the circuit, the problems get progressively harder (x/2)^2 , e.g.
The circuit format keeps students engaged because they must hunt for their answer to advance in the circuit. I make my algebra one, precal /trig , and AP Calculus students work this circuit at some point during the year. I tell my AP students they should be able to work this circuit in 15 minutes or less.
Once you try a circuit with your students, you will all be hooked! Have fun!
