Circulation of a Dollar Bill Dice Simulation with Writing Connection
Looking for a way to integrate writing into your social studies curriculum?
This dice simulation is a great way to to reinforce the concept of how money circulates through our economy while connecting it to writing. By performing the writing connection, students will cement their knowledge by writing creatively from the point of view of a dollar bill.
My students love to complete the dice simulation, and I love the writing practice that they get out of it!
This simulation is a set of posters that you hang around the room and place a die by. Students are assigned a poster to start with and begin by rolling the die there. According to the number they roll they follow the directions on the poster, record their result, and travel to the next poster. This is done for as long as the teacher would like, or until students complete their recording sheet. Afterwards students write a narrative piece about their journey.
