"Circus Super Star Behavior: Let your behavior shine!”
I created this chart to use in my kindergarten classroom. I mount them onto matching construction paper (the outstanding level is on a very shiny metallic silver paper) and tape them top to bottom to make a very tall chart with 6 on the top and 1 on the bottom. Laminate and hang. Each child has a clothespin that has their name on it. They can be moved up or down the chart according to their behavior. All of the children start on green - 3 stars “Ready to learn!” When a child is very on-task or does a good deed, he or she will earn an extra star and will move their name up to the blue – 4 star “On the Ball!” section. If they are caught being extra good or helpful again, they will go up to the purple, 5 star “Soaring High!” section. Sometimes, the kids even reach the “Outstanding” rainbow level, "You made it all the way to the top" which is 6 stars! That is hard to do! I cut around the picture of the tent and put that with the 6 star page so that it really stands out.If a child chooses to break a rule, then he or she will lose a star and will move their name down to yellow – 2 stars where they are asked to slow down and “Think about it”. If another poor choice is made, their name will be moved down to orange – 1 star, “Too much clowning around” and there will be a consequence. If they lose yet another star, they will go down to red, no stars “Parent Contact” - "too much monkeying around". You can choose whether you want a chart from 6 to 1, or 6 to 0. There will be consequences for poor choices and positive reinforcement for good choices. I have used this type of chart in my classroom for the past 9 years and it is very effective! It is very visual for young children.

Most of the circus theme clip art comes from Scrappin Doodles and My Cute Graphics.
