"Cita a Ciegas" (Blind Date) is an interesting, funny story written at a level that Spanish 1 students can understand. It teaches vocabulary for basic physical and character traits (ex. tall, short, kind).
This zip file contains pdf files of multiple activities. Partners read the story as a dialogue. There is a worksheet for students to translate the story, as well as several writing prompts for both English and Spanish, a pre-story quiz to make certain students understand the instructions, and a Mad-Lib that can be used to revisit the story (reinforcing vocabulary), and teaching parts of speech.
Keys are included for the quiz and the worksheet.
This vocabulary comes from Glencoe Spanish 1, "Buen Viaje!" Chapter 1, "Un Amigo o una Amiga."
