Contains over 40 slides and two 2-sided worksheets that accompany the presentation.

The lesson explains what it means to "cite evidence"; the process of locating evidence within a text; using academic language; quoting; and provides three example passages. The entire process is applied to each passage, with a multi-step review of each suggested answer.

The important points and the passages are reproduced on handouts for the students to fill in and work on at their seats to keep the students engaged and on-task. Students can keep these as notes on the skill.

This is excellent for use in preparing your students to answer text dependent analysis questions, as students must cite evidence and use text-based facts to answer these questions, and this presentation/lesson focuses clearly on that skill.
