The second choice board will provide students with 12 options to show what they know about truly embedding quotations within their writing using the specific strategies taught in the lesson.

    ❧Students are given three passages, one fiction and two non-fiction texts- with relating themes (social justice). They are asked to close read, then respond to the given prompt using evidence from two of the three sources. They are supported in doing so with detailed graphic organizers and then asked to seamlessly incorporate text evidence for the assessment.

    - "Signal it!" game cards help students practice leading into the quote with the appropriate information. The "Signal it!" guide sheet will provide students with 14 example signal phrases.
