If using textual evidence is new to your students, or if you just want an easier method to remember or some practice, this pack would be perfect. Teaching students to effectively use textual evidence is crucial for all subjects in common core, and this lesson is easily adaptable for any subject.
Updated to reflect MLA 8th edition
This teaching pack is designed to specifically teach and practice the skill of selecting and incorporating textual evidence with a catchy theme and an easy-to-follow three step process. The nature of this lesson provides students with definitions, examples, and ample practice to introduce them using textual evidence. It also includes an essay that is missing its textual evidence. Students must take evidence from an article (link provided) and incorporate it in.
Each of my ELA skills "How to Teach It" Lesson Packs includes a teacher's guide lesson plan, an easy-to-use PPT lecture explaining the concept, guided practice, opportunity for collaborative and individual practice, and a form of assessment.
