The following five-page study guide film packet is used to accompany the Charlie Chaplin-directed 1931 film, City Lights. The first page contains a list of cast and crew and a background and introduction on the film. The second page is a page that allows viewers to jot and take down their own notes. Pages three and four are comprehension questions to guide the viewer on the work's camera proxemics, sources of humor, characterization, cinematography, motifs, plot, sound effects, story, sociocultural context, style, and themes. The fifth page contains discussion questions on the work's characterization, issues/topics, psychological interpretations, story cohesiveness, and themes.
