This activity helps students classify different quadrilaterals. It is perfect for students in 2nd-5th grade. I have used it while teaching geometry in 3rd and 4th grade. The question asks students to help city planners in a fictional city determine the shape of each building and draw them on a grid. Students also have to answer questions at the end to help them make connections and extend their thinking. This is a perfect activity for students to work in partners or to help foster a classroom discussion about geometry.
