"Resistance to Civil Government" or "Civil Disobedience" as my students and I (and most people) refer to Thoreau's essay is how my students start Transcendentalism.
This is the BIG project they do after they've read it so show that they really understand the ideas behind the essay.
This is a menu style project meaning students are given options as to what they would like to do. The categories include: vocabulary, historical context, author's background, comprehension, and an extension where students can break out a bit.
While only one page(for easy copies), it is PACKED with details and options. Some are technological, and others are not. Students can pick what works best to be sure that they will really shine.
