Product Description

Want to stimulate deep discussion about Civil Rights and primary sources? This activity was made for you!

Students work collaboratively to analyze two primary sources (Excerpts from MLK's "Letter from Birmingham Jail" and Louis Lomax's Interview with Malcolm X). They will annotate, answer questions, and summarize the sources.

They will then use their prior knowledge of other Civil Rights leaders to decide which man (King or X) they would have supported and why.

Finally, the group will craft their own statement on civil disobedience and which leader they would have supported. All of these elements will be crafted into a poster that you can be proud to hang in the hallway.
