These passages are about five Civil Rights Activists: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Rosa Parks, Thurgood Marshall, Daisy Bates, and Malcolm X. This is a no prep resource! Post the link in your online classroom platform, such as Google Classroom. Students will make a copy of the Google Slides file and add text boxes to answer the questions or make notes on the passages. Perfect for February (Black History Month) or any time of year!

-There are corresponding higher-order thinking comprehension questions to go with the passage on each leader. These are questions that require beyond-the-text thinking (inferring and comparisons)!
-Also included, mini-posters on close reading (in b&w and color).

Passages and questions are NOT EDITABLE. Students will add text boxes to respond.
