Bring your Civil Rights Era unit to life with this engaging project...a Civil Rights Era Rap Battle! While a rap battle is not the most traditional school project or activity, in our teaching experience, it has proven to be incredibly popular and one of the most memorable assignments of the year. This rap battle assignment is designed to be an easy no-prep activity that you can use to supplement your unit on the Civil Rights Era. In this project, students will work alone or in a small groups, select a historical change-maker, and write a rap, song, or poem about them.
