Please note: This set is also contained in my larger U.S. History: America's Story Interactive Social Studies Unit
, which covers North American exploration through the modern era.
This engaging and rigorous social studies interactive unit will enable students to build a strong understanding of the Civil Rights Movement. Featuring two parts - the Civil War era and mid-20th century fight for civil rights, this unit is laid out in a manner that allows you to pull pages to use in any order, so it fits in flexibly with your lesson planning. The activities provided here are designed to work in an interactive notebook and are especially perfect for use from MLK Jr. Day through Black History Month.
Using this product a breeze - planning is easy and all activities are low or no prep! I have also included recommended websites for you to pull relevant supplemental articles from when using these activities or to use in fostering research/computer skills with your students. This curriculum incorporates a wide variety literacy skills while encouraging critical thinking, creating a strong alignment with the Common Core standards. Be sure to check out the preview file for teacher's notes, a full table of contents, and lots of activity pages!
