Have you student create a spottily playlist to tell the story of the lives of one of the US's lesser known civil rights activists.
Students first read a brief biography of the life and an accomplishments of a civil rights leader and then find songs that shed light on one aspect of their story.
For example, if we were making a playlist for Galileo, we may include the song "Star Boy" and discuss his work with astronomy.
In this product you receive the handout (black and white and front and back) for students to name their playlist, come up with an icon for their playlist, list five songs, provided recommendations for who would listen to this playlist as well as space to explanation their choices.
As well as the handout, you received brief biographies on leaders like Rosa Parks, James Meredith, Malcolm X and more.
