This is a 16 station activity using both text and pictures to get the students up and moving around the classroom while learning about the various advantages and disadvantages both the North and the South held during the Civil War. It comes with a teacher version, student version, and a version with only the posters. I include that final version in case the students don't get done during class or are absent. I can then post it in the Google Classroom and they can work from home. Included with the teacher version are multiple comments on how I teach the lesson as well as what has worked best for me over time. I've also included in the comments two IL Social Studies Learning Standards and two Common Core Standards. This lesson is extremely flexible in time as well. It can be done in as little as 30 minutes, or easily stretched into a 60-80 minute lesson with student discussion and additional teacher instruction.
I write the majority of my lessons in Google Docs and tailor them for use in the Google Classroom. Most easily translate into print, sometimes with slight modification b/c of the conversions between Docs and Word. I hope this resource helps. Enjoy!
