Here is a description of each product:

Civil War PowerPoint: Causes to End
This 30 slide Civil War PowerPoint Presentation was created to align with the Social Studies Standards for fifth grade in Georgia. It covers pre-Civil War to the end of the Civil War, and includes lots of pictures and maps. I use this in my daily lessons throughout my Civil War Unit. It is a great visual, and requires the students to use the textbook less. Textbooks often include lots of extra information and become overwhelming. This presentation includes key information and makes it more organized and easier for students to understand.

This PowerPoint is 100% able to be edited! That means that you can add or delete any information that does not work for your classroom!

Specific Topics Covered: Similarities and differences between the North and South, Southern and Northern points of view on slavery, life of a slave, resisting slavery, slave rebellions, the Missouri Compromise of 1820, The Compromise of 1850, Kansas-Nebraska Act, Uncle Tom's Cabin, John Brown's raid on Harper's Ferry, Abraham Lincoln, the South secedes, Battle of Fort Sumter, Advantages and Disadvantages in the war, War Strategies of the North and South, The First Battle of Bull Run, Thomas Stonewall Jackson, Battle of Antietam, Robert E. Lee, African Americans and Women during the war, Battle of Gettysburg, Emancipation Proclamation, Gettysburg Address, Battle of Vicksburg, Sherman's March to the Sea, Total War, The Appomattox Court House.

Reconstruction PowerPoint
This 18 slide PowerPoint Presentation was designed to align with Georgia standards in 5th Grade Social Studies. It covers all teaching points during Reconstruction after the Civil War. It includes questions on slides to get students thinking. I use this PowerPoint as a guide through the unit. It is easy to comprehend with lots of pictures, graphic organizers, and questions to think about.

This PowerPoint is 100% able to be edited! That means that you can alter it so that it fits the needs of your students.

Topics Covered: The assassination of President Lincoln, Andrew Johnson, 13th Amendment, 14th Amendment, 15th Amendment, Black Codes, Freedman's Bureau, Segregation, Jim Crow Laws, Sharecropping.

Civil War & Reconstruction Matching Card Game
This matching card game (62 cards) includes all key terms, people, and ideas in the Civil War Unit and Reconstruction. This game was created to align with Georgia 5th grade Social Studies Standards (also AKS). I editable cards so that you can add cards to it if necessary.

I print them on cardstock and laminate them so that I can use them from year to year. I use them as a unit review prior to tests and Standardized Tests. Your students can do this as a center activity, with a partner, or as a small group. I always use them as a game to see which team can correctly match them the fastest. This game is simple, yet a favorite of my students every year!

Terms included in game: Sectionalism, Slavery, Underground Railroad, Nat Turner, Abolitionists, The Amistad, Harriet Tubman, Missouri Compromise, Compromise of 1850, Fugitive Slave Law, Uncle Tom's Cabin, John Brown, Abraham Lincoln, Secede, Jefferson Davis, Fort Sumter, Anaconda Plan, Blockade, Stonewall Jackson, Robert E. Lee, Emancipation Proclamation, Battle of Gettysburg, The Gettysburg Address, Ulysses S. Grant, Sherman's March to the Sea, Appomattox Court House, John Wilkes Booth, Thirteenth Amendment, Fourteenth Amendment, Fifteenth Amendment, Jim Crow Laws
