Students read accounts of, and compare and contrast, the First Battle of Bull Run, the Battle of Gettysburg, and the Battle of the Ironclads from the American Civil War by answering 16 questions. Answers are included where appropriate and this would be great for a sub!

Sample questions include:
-Describe the battle and the conditions inside the turret with at least 7 sentences.
-Explain what "death-knell of wooden ships as fighting vessels" means.
-Discuss the nature of the Northern troops and how they didn't necessarily exude confidence to Lincoln.
-Who retreated to Virginia?
-What purpose did the cattle horn serve and did it work?
