You've never seen a package like this! This includes a dozen vocabulary words to introduce CAUSES of the Civil War. Choose the format of your organizer based on class time available and student ability. The package includes an analogy activity that you can choose to do BEFORE introducing the vocab (for higher level students) or AFTER introducing the vocab (lower level students). The PDF includes presentation pages you can display; print the definition pages and post them around the room, then have students take their analogy sheet and go around the room to figure out which word/definition fits in which analogy. For the presentation of the words, display a picture and ask students to evaluate it and think about what word might describe it. Then pop up the next page and the definition with its part of speech pops up and students can copy it down on the version of the organizer you choose to use. Answer keys and multiple versions of the vocabulary activity are included along with the analogies activity...37 pages in all! There's even a smaller, 4-up version of the definitions to use for flash cards!
If you like this package, please remember to provide positive feedback. I really appreciate it! If you ever find a typo or correction that needs to be made, let me know and I will usually upload or email you a corrected version within 24 hours. I hope this will be helpful to you in getting your students to learn vocabulary by thinking of the meaning first and then seeing the word, plus applying the relationship of that word in an analogy, which is higher-order thinking our students need to use.
