Researching skills in the late elementary grades is more important than ever. Finding credible sources, using the right key words to search, and getting specific information are all skills our kids need to be GREAT with.
Through this activity, students are searching for answers to 14 fill in the blank statements about the Civil War. The beginning of the war, specific details of the war, as well as the end of the war are focused on through this activity. There are cloze read sentences, as well as a few extended response questions students first need to research in order to answer appropriately.
There is also a graphic organizer included for students to fill in the major occurrences after the Civil War was finished.
Most of the statements are very general in this activity, and are not overly difficult, as my 4th graders only need a general overview of these points. Just so everyone is aware.
Thanks for looking!
