Work on Civil War Poem

Research/Paragraph writing

  • Day 7 Work on and complete timeline
  • Day 8 Work on and complete vocabulary cards
  • Day 9 Complete any incomplete portions of project. Enhance and share with a peer for suggested improvements
  • Day 10 Assemble and complete project

Extended activities:

  • Create a file folder sample to share with students so they can see your expectations
  • Allow students the opportunity to present their research to an audience
  • Differentiate: Add additional vocabulary and writing opportunities
  • Write a play or Reader's Theater specific to an event or person from the Civil War to share with the class
  • Have students create a collage or portrait representing a famous Civil War figure or event
