Civil War Leaders "Magic Portrait" Lesson
This amazing, magical lesson includes a PowerPoint of leading Civil War era figures including Frederick Douglass, John Brown, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Abraham Lincoln, Jefferson Davis, Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, William T. Sherman, and Stonewall Jackson - all brought to life through amazing "Harry Potter" style magical portraits.
Each slide includes state and common core national standards that students need to know about each figure as well as the magic portraits in which the faces blink, smile, laugh, and look around the room.
Your students will be AMAZED at these visuals and will not take their eyes off of your screen!
Also included is a graphic organizer which students complete with information from the powerpoint and draw each person in the correct column. An answer key of the graphic organizer is included as well.
This is a truly amazing, dynamic activity that will engage your visual learners and have your students gasping when they see Frederick Douglass smile and wink at them! I promise they will be howling with delight!
