This Civil War Mathematics Activity was created to integrate Social Studies and Mathematics. Each student selects a General from either the Confederate or Union army and progresses through a "choose your own adventure" type game where they make simple calculations based on battles that they fight throughout the simulation. Students must follow directions and move from one battle to the next based on the posters (to be printed by the classroom teacher).
1) Enter the starting values for the General that you chose,
2) Begin at the first battle on the worksheet for your General (battle A),
3) Read the story about the battle as it unfolded, and then make changes to your army based on the battle,
4) Rotate to the next General on your list and continue to fill out your sheet to see how your General fairs!
