PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Frank Wilkeson was only 15 years old when he joined the Union Army in 1864. He survived some of the bloodiest battles, at the Wilderness, Spotsylvania and Cold Harbor. His account is often harrowing but provides a true sense of what war was actually like.

Combined with other readings, it is easy to create a skit in which students take the roles of Wilkeson, Rhodes (also available), Sam Watkins, in A Rebel Soldier's War, and more, to describe their "lives" as soldiers during the American Civil War.
