Civil War Expert Project:
If you like to take the responsibility out of your hands and put it back into your students’ hands- then this is the perfect product for you! Perfect for a Civil War study and can be as simple or in-depth as you choose. Using this resource, your students will become experts on various aspects of the Civil War. They will be responsible for learning all about it and teaching their classmates all that they have learned. You may choose to have your students work in small groups or individually.
During this project students use their own or collaborative creativity to come up with a way to teach the rest of the class. Not only does it teach collaboration but fosters a creative classroom environment, and helps students learn how to effectively communicate with each other (especially if an argument arises). This is a project that will "stick with 'em"!
Research Templates include: Causes of the war, North and South leaders, major battles, life of a soldier, and reconstruction events.
Also included is a timeline template (1859- 1877) that students can plot the major events of the Civil War and surrounding years.
Causes of the Civil War:
This resource includes 5 work stations that will get your students analyzing pre-civil war primary and secondary documents. It has all you need to analyze the political charts, prints, text, maps, and the presidential election all related to pre-civil war.
